We are excited to introduce Casey Wolnowski in his very first production at French Creek Theatre.  He will be playing Mr. Webb in our upcoming production of Our Town.

Tell us a little about yourself?

Casey has been involved in local theatre, musical and dramatic productions for the last forty years.  He was last seen in the musical My Way at the Amherst Workshop Theatre.  He has performed and directed at Lorain Community Music Theatre, Cassidy Theatre, Chef Henri Dinner Theatre, Mighty Goliath Productions, Huntington Playhouse, Lorain Palace Players, and other theatrical venues.  He thanks his wife, Georganne, for her encouragement to involve himself in this wonderful, iconic play.

What does the story of Our Town mean to you?

It is the iconic presentation of small town America at its roots, poetically exposing loves, family and death as portrayed by endearing characters.

One of the major themes of Our Town is about appreciating the “little moments” in life. What are the “little moments” that you treasure?

The relationship Mr. Webb has with Emily, his daughter.  The awkwardness when Mr. Webb has a pre-nuptial conversation with George Gibbs.

In Our Town we see Emily & George discover their feelings for each other. Do you have a significant other? What’s the story of how you met?

My wife Georganne and I got married in a fever.

Act III of Our Town takes place in the afterlife. What do you think happens to us when we pass on?

We surmise that it’s a place; there seems to be eternal betterment.  For those who believe, the afterlife ends with god.

What do you hope French Creek’s audience will take away from this production?

The warmth and sentiment of the show.  The associative, everyman quality.

Ushering in a new era of modern theatre, Thornton Wilder wrote of a people frozen in the earliest years of the 20th century. Decades later audiences continue to be moved by their simple yet universal struggles, dreams, loves and triumphs.
