We are excited to welcome back Noah Underhill, you may remember him from his True North Cultural Arts days as Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream or one of the Wickersham brothers in Seussical. He’s playing Charlie Bucket in our production of Willy Wonka running August 11-20.
Tell us a little about yourself?
Noah is excited to be returning to the stage that sparked his love of acting in 2014 in Seussical. This is Noah’s fifth show including Suessical (Wickersham #1) and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Puck) with TrueNorth Cultural Arts, Beauty & The Beast twice, once as Lefou with Palace Youth Theater, and once as a member of the ensemble with Mighty Goliath Productions. When Noah is not acting he is an avid swimmer and a member of the Oberlin Choristers. Thanks for coming, and enjoy the show!
Although the odds are nearly impossible, it’s Charlie Bucket’s dream to find a golden ticket and win a tour of Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. What’s your “golden ticket” dream?
My dream is to be either a sports radio broadcaster or an actor on Broadway.
Charlie Bucket’s family barely gets by living in a cramped house with both sets of grandparents, and they all still wear smiles. What’s it like at your home? How do you and yours make it work?
I’m in a house my and 2 sisters who love me and are always looking out for me.
Willy Wonka is all about the candy. What’s your favorite?
Starburst or Skittles.
The show is about Willy Wonka finding the right person to pass his candy-making legacy to. What do you want to be your legacy? How will it be carried on?
I want to be remembered as a hard worker and a really great guy; someone who is always prepared for the task at hand.
The children in Willy Wonka all have their flaws that get them booted off the tour of Wonka’s factory. What weakness of yours would get you kicked out of the chocolate factory?
Being allergic to chocolate. I don’t know if I would be “kicked out” or driven out in an ambulance.
