We are excited to welcome back Tobin Grendzynski, you may remember him from Curious George and the Golden Meatball, The Velveteen Rabbit, and Bloom from earlier this season at French Creek Theatre.  He’s playing Grandpa George in our production of Willy Wonka running August 11-20.

Tell us a little about yourself?

Tobin is excited to be joining the cast of Willy Wonka. Tobin lives in North Ridgeville and is a freshman in North Ridgeville High School where he runs cross country and track. Tobin is also a tenor in concert choir and loves to sing. He started acting in 2014 at the Olde Towne Hall Theater in Sleeping Beauty and Aladdin. He started with French Creek as The Big Bad Pig in The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig. Tobin would like to thank his family for all the support that they have given him.

Although the odds are nearly impossible, it’s Charlie Bucket’s dream to find a golden ticket and win a tour of Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.  What’s your “golden ticket” dream?

To either become a singer, an actor, or a musical comedian.

Charlie Bucket’s family barely gets by living in a cramped house with both sets of grandparents, and they all still wear smiles. What’s it like at your home? How do you and yours make it work?

It’s very nice at my house. It’s clean, spacious, and has a classic but modern feeling.  My family and I love it and wouldn’t leave it.

Willy Wonka is all about the candy. What’s your favorite?

Definitely Cow Tails, Bull’s Eyes, or Swedish Fish.

The show is about Willy Wonka finding the right person to pass his candy-making legacy to. What do you want to be your legacy? How will it be carried on?

To be a famous singer. So that people will sing my songs when I can’t sing anymore.

The children in Willy Wonka all have their flaws that get them booted off the tour of Wonka’s factory.  What weakness of yours would get you kicked out of the chocolate factory?

I’d probably walk off from the rest of the group.
