We are proud to introduce Mike Ferraro in his very first French Creek Theatre production! He will be playing Willy Wonka in our production of Willy Wonka opening this Friday.
Tell us a little about yourself?
Michael is very excited to return to the stage for Willy Wonka, and honored to work with so many talented young actors and actresses. It’s been a while since he’s been in a show since returning to Lorain after studying acting and directing at Bowling Green State University. He took a long break following his performance as Scrooge in A Christmas Carol. It’s been an exciting and fast paced journey, and we hope you enjoy the show, because a good show can change more than the world – it can change your perspective.
Although the odds are nearly impossible, it’s Charlie Bucket’s dream to find a golden ticket and win a tour of Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. What’s your “golden ticket” dream?
I suppose my “golden ticket” dream is to try and make a living as an actor as I have always dreamed.
Charlie Bucket’s family barely gets by living in a cramped house with both sets of grandparents, and they all still wear smiles. What’s it like at your home? How do you and yours make it work?
Me and mine have troubles like anyone else but we always make it through any hardships, but more importantly we always make it through together.
Willy Wonka is all about the candy. What’s your favorite?
Well, I like most candy, but Reese’s are a cut above the rest. I mean come on?!
The show is about Willy Wonka finding the right person to pass his candy-making legacy to. What do you want to be your legacy? How will it be carried on?
I love to make people laugh and smile and help people re-examine things. I guess I’d like to be known as a positive force for laughter and joy to be remembered by family and friends and the audiences I like.
The children in Willy Wonka all have their flaws that get them booted off the tour of Wonka’s factory. What weakness of yours would get you kicked out of the chocolate factory?
That’s a loaded question, but I’d say probably a noise complaint or too many pop culture references at once.
